Everybody listen up! Give all your love to Breygent Marketing for coming up with this amazing concept. If you’re going to Comic-Con this year, you’re in for a treat.
Breygent will be selling exclusieve “Comin-Con Mystery Packs”. You don’t know what you’re getting, but it’s all good. The packs will contain autographs, costume cards, prop cards, metallogloss costume cards, and sketch cards from the following products: Dexter, Ghost Whisperer, Paranormal Activity, The Tudors, Cartoon Sketch, and Golden Age of Comics.

Personally I’m a huge Dexter fan, so when I saw this BLOOD RED signed card by Michael C. Hall, my jaw dropped! Too bad I ain’t going to Comic-Con!

Non-Sport Update (NSU) is once again producing a variant issue for this year’s Chicagoland Entertainment Collectors Expo to be held September 9-12 at the Holiday Inn in Carol Stream, IL. NSU has produced two previous Star Wars variant issues and with this being the 10th Anniversary Chicagoland Show, we have something really fantastic planned – the inclusion of the very first Star Wars costume card!
Each copy will contain a one of a kind and first of its kind, Star Wars costume card, produced by Topps exclusively for the issue. The card features authentic “Ewok fur” provided by The Prop Store (check out their website at propstore.com for over 4,000 original movie props and costumes). Only 300 copies of this magazine and costume card will be sold. This will be the most limited Non-Sport Update variant issue ever produced and with this incredible card inside, copies will definitely sell out. Each card will be sequentially-numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
This year’s Star Wars variant cover & trading card will feature a stunning piece of original art from fan-favorite Mark McHaley. The magazine cover and card are produced under authorization of Lucasfilm Ltd.
Non-Sport Update will be donating 50% of the net proceeds from the sale of this issue to the Chicagoland Entertainment Collectors Expo charity of choice – The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (www.treasurechest.org). The cover price will be $19.99.
A great cover, a great card, and a great cause, all at a bargain rate. What more could you ask for?
Copies of this issue will premier at the show. Non-Sport Update is now taking orders for copies to be picked-up at the show. Doing so will save you all shipping costs. We urge you to place an order to ensure that you receive a copy as we do expect the issue to sell out. We realize that the demand is quite high for this issue; therefore, we are offering the opportunity for you to pre-order. Note: there is a limit of three copies per household. So, please order yours now to avoid missing such a monumental issue! Beckett Grading Services will offer exclusive special pricing on grading and encapsulation for this card at the show. Felix Silla, the “Flying Ewok,” will be on hand for autograph sessions (please note that Mr. Silla charges for his autograph).
Non-Sport Update is also now taking orders for copies to be mailed to those collectors who are not able to attend the show. Only a small portion will be sold this way and priority will be given to pre-orders and those attending the show.

Only 2 days from now the Baltimore Non-Sports Card Convention will take place at the Towson Place Hotel & Suites. Regretfully I won’t be able to attend (can’t take a flight across the atlantic for every event) but for those of you that do attend, there’s a lot of fun to be had.
For example, you will be able to pick a few exclusive promo cards. The limited edition “Great Defender” Baltimore Non-Sports Card Convention promo card and the “Woodstock Generation” promocard made by Breygent just for this event.

There will also be some special guests attending the show, such as Ted Dastick Jr., Brian Kong and Jeff Zapata. Also be on the lookout for Non-Sport Update magazine, Geppi’s Entertainment Museum and Rittenhouse Archives.
For those of you attending, have fun!
