By Cryptozoic Entertainment:

It bears repeating that the crew here at Cryptozoic is a bunch of nerds, so obviously we love The Guild, the award-winning web series by actress/writer Felicia Day. We’ll be releasing a set of The Guild Trading Cards for the first two seasons of the series soon, so we wanted to give a preview of what loyal Guildies can expect to find when they crack open a box or pack. We’ve previewed the special Autograph cards already, with real, hand-signed signatures from the cast of The Guild, and you can also randomly encounter Wardrobe cards with real pieces of wardrobe worn by the cast during filming.

Besides the special premium cards, though, we have three sets of cards: the base set, highlighting the show’s best moments in sequential order; a chase set themed around Codex’s personal vlog; and another chase set with bios for each main cast member.

Check out the rest of the cards at Cryptozoic.

The Guild, an award-winning web series that we gamers and hobby fans can truly identify with, is now collectible! Follow the Knights of Good through the first three seasons of the show, starting with Zaboo popping up on Codex’s door and wrapping-up with the epic duel to the digital death between the Knights of Good and the Axis of Anarchy. Sixty-three cards composed of the most screenshot-spamworthy moments of the show make up the base set. Track down the nine-card chase set, and loot both autographs and memorabilia from the cast. Go on a pack-cracking frenzy this Fall with The Guild trading cards!

Stefan Salvatore returns to the aptly named Mystic Falls, Virginia. Instant attraction to Elena Gilbert is no coincidence— she’s a dead-ringer for his ex-lover Katherine. Of course, when you add in the fact that Stefan is a 160-year-old vampire, as well as the existence of vampire hunters, witches, secret socities, and all other elements of the supernatural, love is never going to be easy. If things weren’t complicated enough, Damon’s brother, Stefan, makes it a love triangle. Collect all your favorite moments from season 1 of The Vampire Diaries in this trading card set.

Recently Larry Marder has been posting a series of articles about the upcoming CBLDF Liberty Cards over at CBLDF.org. Here is the latest!

Larry Marders CBLDF Liberty Cards Diary stories

Things are really heating up for CBLDF Liberty Trading Cards on my end of things. All sorts of cards are starting to arrive at the Cryptozoic Entertainment offices, and every time I get over there I see something new.

Today, let’s take a look-see at the front of our CBLDF creator autograph cards. All over the realm of comics, writer and artist champions of liberty are signing their names to their pictures to help CBLDF raise the funds necessary to defend everyone’s constitutionally guaranteed rights to freedom of speech under the First Amendment.

From top left, in clockwise fashion:

Jimmy Palmiotti: “Jimmy Palmiotti is a writer, editor and multi-award-winning character creator with a wide range of experience in advertising, production, consulting, editorial, film writing, development and production, media presentation and video game development.”

James Kochalka: “James Kochalka is the creator of the daily diary comic strip American Elf and the children’s comics series Johnny Boo and Dragon Puncher. On March 10, 2011, he was appointed the first Cartoonist Laureate of the State of Vermont.”

John Layman: “John Layman started in comics in 1995 and has been a writer, letterer and editor. He’s worked for Image, Marvel, IDW, Oni, Dynamite, Avatar, Boom and WildStorm. Layman likes Legos, kitty-cats and writing Chew.”

Amanda Conner: “Amanda Conner is an  artist and commercial  illustrator. She began her career in the late 1980s for Archie Comics and moved on to work for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and Harris Comics and has had her work featured in the New York Times and Revolver magazine, as well as on NBC’s Dateline and A&E’s Biography. Her latest work was a 12 issue run of Powergirl for DC Comics.”

I’m going to wrap up with another peek at work by the astoundingly hardworking and talented Philip Tan. Philip is going to be doing the art on the upcoming Savage Hawkman from DC Comics. Take a look at these beautifully rendered sketch cards Philip drew for CBLDF in what passes for his spare time. What a generous guy he is!

The Big Bang Theory is now collectible! The characters on The Big Bang Theory do everything that we, as hobbyists, love: discussing science, passionately debating hypothetic battles between comic book characters, and playing games. So, it’s only fitting that the cast has their own trading cards. From Penny’s Halloween party to robot-on-robot melee, you can collect your favorite moments in the show. You can’t polybag these, but you can sort them in pages and carry them around in a three-ring binder. Score!

From Cryptozoic Entertainment:

CBLDF Liberty Trading Cards

In comic books, the hero must battle an out-of-this-world villain in a world of fantasy. In our world, there are real-life villains as well. To this day, artistic expression and free speech are challenged in the comic book industry. The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) is a non-profit organization that comes to the aid of those artists who are threatened by censorship and other legal troubles. Supported by some of the most acclaimed creators and artists in the industry, the CBL DF has long been a champion of free speech.

This trading card set showcases some of the historic legal battles comic books have had to overcome from the Seduction of the Innocent era in the 1950s to the modern day. In addition to the base set, special hand drawn sketch cards and autograph cards by some of the top talent in the comic book world will be featured! Erik Larsen, Charlie Adlard, Rob Liefeld, Frank Quitely and Terry Moore are just a few artists who will be doing sketch cards. Plus, autographs can be found from such names as Geoff Johns, Neil Gaiman, Jeff Smith, Gail Simone and Robert Kirkman.
